New research by ING reveals that two-thirds of dads (64%) feel their kids are wasting money on their Father\u2019s Day gifts and 43% admit they receive gifts that go unused or are never worn.<\/p>\n<p>Findings released by ING also found that Australians are spending an average of $65 each and wasting an accumulative $58.2 million on unused gifts on Father\u2019s Day each year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMelanie Evans, ING\u2019s Head of Retail Banking, said: \u201cOur research shows that dads are the hardest family member to buy for, and as a result, it\u2019s leaving many Aussies buying clich\u00e9d gifts that go unused or unworn by dad.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNot only is giving an unwanted gift a waste of money, many of these unused gifts end up in landfill.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis Father\u2019s Day we want to encourage Aussies to wrap up something dad will actually want but is also ethically made and good for the planet, something that powers a positive change in Australia and beyond.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith our Gifts That Give online shop you\u2019ll find a bunch of unique gifts from the ING Dreamstarter community. Dads are often gifted clich\u00e9d gifts even though his family knows he won\u2019t put them to use<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>While nearly half of Aussie dads admit to having not used their Father\u2019s Day gifts, 76% of Australians have confessed to giving their dad, husband or partner a clich\u00e9d gift on Father\u2019s Day.
